Golly! I haven’t seen a good mosquito horror movie since 1995 Mosquito starring Gunnar Hansen and TV’s 2005 Mosquito Man with Christa Campbell. A mosquito horror film comes in about one and a blue moon. A blue moon is on the horizon with the latest mosquito horror flick Sucker!
Director Michael Manasseri (Babysitter Wanted) brings us this without a doubt soon to be gem. The trailer kind of makes the mosquito genetically engineered man to be a comic book hero type who does some really evil stuff to his victims. He eats than he mates! Plus, you know this will be a silly gory mess just for the fact that Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman has a role in it.
Plot: Jim Crawley is having a really bad day. He gets fired from his job at the nuclear power plant, his car is impounded and he discovers his wife having an affair. To make matters worse, Jim gets himself abducted by an evil scientist looking to conduct human testing for a vaccine against a deadly mosquito borne virus spreading across the planet. It turns out that years of exposure to nuclear radiation and rabid mosquito DNA don’t mix very well and Jim transforms into a half man-half mosquito, hell bent on revenge. Sucker… payback’s an itch.
