I’m lookin’ to make a come back! The RETURN OF ITS BLOGGIN’ EVIL!!!!
Can you remember the last good vampire flick? Does Underworld count? My mind can’t conjure up one better than Interview with the Vampire, but of course, all of these examples are mainstream, hollywood-produce examples. Am I shunning the back alley projects? Perhaps I’ve just seen too much horror movies. I can’t recall the last indie vampire project that was actually worth a viewing. Unfortunately, I still haven’t come across such a worthy viewing even if the topic of this review is a vampire genre film called Dead Cert.
A tough London gang are ruthless when it comes to territorial disputes, taking care of their competition with merciless violence, but when an Iranian businessman comes into town, Freddy and his gang don’t know what they’re getting themselves into. The Iranian businessmen are more than just land searchers, they’re legendary vampires looking to reclaim what they claim is theirs – the London land. Freddy’s club becomes their base of operations when Freddy’s boxer Dennis loses his bout against an Iranian brute.
What may seem to be the death of Its Bloggin’ Evil is not true. Yes, I have been away for awhile…away from my keyboard. Work and life has swallowed me whole at the moment, but I still have plenty to review and to write about (literally, right now I’m about to watch Odeon Entertainment’s Blu-ray region free version of Witchfinder General with Vincent Price…review to come).
In summary, I just wanted to say…I’m still ALIVE!
Remember that remarkable and emotionally stirring first trailer (see here) for the upcoming Dead Island video game? The trailer was gut-wrenched full of chaos in where no one was safe. Techland’s awesome remote island zombie game will turn many heads. A second trailer has been released and, though not as powerful as the first, still has that taste for the theatric or dramatic, if you will.
After the first trailer released, there wasn’t much time between the trailer and the news floating around about film producers and companies shopping around for the rights to make this bad boy into a full fledged feather-length film. Though nothing has come about the film yet, the game hasn’t even been released yet as we’re set for an August 1st date. You can pre-order your Dead Island Xbox 360 or PS3 copies now at Amazon.com!
See the trailer and synopsis after the jump!
